Comment: I did get something out of this book, but not all that I thought I would. I'm not sure what direction I should go in to find out what type of information I want.

Summary: a decent book that takes a little time to get used to
Comment: I bought this for a college class. The way it is divided into "lessons" is different from what I was used to. The projects on the CD helped me learn this program. Taking the time to read the material then use the CD in the back to do the projects is worth it! Halfway through the class the different style of this book started to click and I have used it since then many times as a reference. I would recommend it to any beginner that has little experience with computer design or computer art like I was at the time I took the class.
As for the other reviews on Amazon on the other "Adobe ... revealed" books, they are rather confusing because it seems like some people posted reviews on the wrong book. It seems there is more than one edition for some of the "revealed" books, (some in color, some black and white, some include a CD, some don't.) So be careful you buy what you really are looking for.

Summary: Great Series for the Self-taught
Comment: The Adobe Revealed series is a great group of books for newbies to introduce the suite of Adobe software products. These books are good enough for a person to teach him- or herself, especially when a classroom or online instructor is slow to give feedback and direction.
I wish there were a similar series of books to teach Flash and Dreamweaver, especially with the chapter projects of varying complexity.
I liked having lots of projects to practice skills in an organized way. The examples are not intimidating. Their simplicity may very well inspire a person to be much more creative. The included CD and the online resources increase the educational value of these books.---sf
