| This Tutorial will show you how to create some dazzling effects to text, which also can be applied to objects. |

| 1.) Open Photoshop 7.0 and create a new file. Go to File > New. Make it 350 X 150 pixels on a white background at 72 dpi then hit OK. |
| 2.) Press the letter D on the keyboard to set the foreground color to black. |
| 3.) Select the Text tool and type something large. |

| 4.) Now, in the Layers palette, Ctrl + click on the text layer to create a selection around the text. Turn off the "eye" icon to the layer, and click on the background layer. |

| 5.) Next, go to Edit > Stroke. Enter 8 pixels for width and choose Outside for location then hit OK. |

| Now, de-select selection by pressing Ctrl + D. |
| 6.) Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Enter setting below and hit OK. |

| 7.) Next, go to Filter > Render > Difference Clouds. (This will create the electric stroke around the text.) Now, invert the clouds by pressing Ctrl + I to create a stronger effect. |

| 8.) Now to colorize this baby. Press Ctrl + U. (This action will activate the Hue/Saturation dialog box). Check the Colorize box, then move the Hue slider to 245. |

| 9.) To finish text, in the Layers palette, click on the type layer to make it visible. Go to Layer > Layer Style > Blending Options... and when the palette appears, change it's "Blend Mode" to Overlay. |
| *Compare text to top image. Effects will vary depending on different text styles. Try several styles until you find one that suits your fancy. |
| Remember I said this effect can be applied to objects also? |

| Here, I created a file for the building (applied with the Text tool found under "Webdings") at 200 pixels and applied the same effects above. Then I created a second file and created the text. The text was then extracted and pasted into the first file. |
