Customer Rating: Summary: This is a great buy Comment: I just bought this book two days ago and I have almost finished it. It's easy to read and a great resource.
Customer Rating: Summary: What a great book. Comment: This is such a good book for anyone developing a Web site, from do-it-yourselfers to pros. It is very easy to read and digest - well organized, with good illustrative examples, and not a ton of techie jargon.
If you're looking for a technical reference, this isn't it. But if you want to know the most important things to keep in mind when developing a Web site, if you want to know the difference good usability and an intuitive user interface can make in the success of a site, this is the book for you.
Read and follow the advice in the chapter on designing navigation; that chapter alone is worth the price.
I develop Web sites and I keep this book within easy reach on my desk for quick reference.
Customer Rating: Summary: Essential Reading Comment: If you want to design quality websites and haven't read this book you are doing your visitors a disservice. It's that simple. Don't Make Me Think is well written, well structured, easy to read and short. It covers usability the way we should design sites, with a just enough content, easily digested and quick to consume. You could get the same content elsewhere but it would be a lot more work and a lot more poorly written. 11 stars.
Customer Rating: Summary: Exemplary! Comment: This book is truly fantastic. I read it once and then immediately once again. It is incredibly informative; very interesting; truly insightful. It not only presents the bigger picture of the wonderful world of websites, but also presents examples, delves into details, and is written in a great, quirky tone.
Customer Rating: Summary: An entertaining and educating read Comment: Steve Krug has written a really usable book on usability. He writes in a relaxed way and explains his thoughts in a plain and accessible prose.
This is an excellent book for anyone interested to learn more about Web Usability. Steve Krug cuts through to the point on every page and it is the first book about my day job that I've finished in less than three (3!) days.
The best part of this book is how it gives you the tools to start practicing Web Usability as soon as you've finished it and at such a low cost that you start to wonder why you didn't come up with this before!
It is an easy read but the content is a gold mine for all you webdiggers out there. I can't do anything but highly recommend everyone in the field to read this book!
