Summary: Don't Create Another Web Site Without this Book
Comment: This is the one book that will immediately make you understand that the IT wizards and content managers have separate and distinct jobs. Please, don't spend multi-bucks on another monument to Internet Technology without absorbing, understanding and applying usability testing before releasing another "stinky" web site that no one will look at twice.

Summary: A great, accessible primer
Comment: This book is well researched and well documented. And it's a quick read with great examples and screen shots to make it accessible to even the most print-averse web techies. I got several copies of this for our web team.

Summary: You'll wonder why you didn't do usability tests before
Comment: I was looking for a book on usability that would help me be better at developing web applications so I was a little disappointed when in the first chapter it said "this is not a book about usability for web applications".

Nevertheless I went ahead and read the book and it has been incredibly useful for me. The book is easy to read, contains no extra unnecessary stuff and will put you on the right road to create much better websites AND web applications.

Summary: Must read if you build web sites
Comment: It doesn't take much time to read this book and it will save you much more time later. After I read the book, I checked a couple of our web sites and really found a number of obvious improvements.
This is NOT a book on designing web -applications- but it is still helpful if this is what you want to do.

Summary: Common Sense Just Makes Sense
Comment: Steve Krug has an eye for simplicity and points out the obvious when it comes to marketing and web design with a great sense of humor. This book (it's first and this 2nd addition) have been a *long* time favorite of mine. It's required reading for the designers and programmers at my company.

This book is a great overview for business personnel who are still leary about the web or who feel overwhelmed with the plethora of options and technology that are out there.
