Summary: The best introduction
Comment: I must admit I was surprised at how wonderful this book was. I read it from cover to cover in 5 days. I feel like I now have a very good grasp on XHTML and CSS.
When I read the introduction, I was skeptical about the methods used to teach in this book. But then I realized that because so many teaching methods were used congruently, I learned faster and retained more information in less time than I have with the type of books I usually prefer: dry and directly on point with no personality.
I was a little bothered by the curse words used in the book. But as a teaching text, it was excellent. Examples were clear and visible as well as verbally explained. Concepts were also visually represented and verbally explained. And both examples and concepts were shown visually and verbally explained a few different times in a few different ways. I think you get the point.
I highly recommend this book and will purchase from O'Reilly again as a result of this book.

Comment: This book will lead you by the hand in learning how to build your own web site quickly and easily! I was able to create a basic web site in just one week. Don't wait, try it and see how easy it really is. This book is very well priced for what it can do for you.

Summary: A modern way to read a book.
Comment: This book is written with a lot of images. It makes it a lot easier to remember the stuff you read. Everything is very easy and straight forward. A great book for newcomers but not recommended for those who are already into webdesign. Though if youre interested about lecturing a class this book might come in handy with a lot of good and more modern ideas about teaching ;)

Comment: This book is simply the best on the market for learning HTML, XHTML, and CSS. As a training professional, I can validate that the style that is used is very effective. If you want to learn these technologies, don't waste time with other books, start with this one.

Summary: Excellent book for learning HTML, XHTML, CSS
Comment: I will be teaching a beginning web design/html course in the Fall, and began reading through this Head First book for ideas to make learning html fun. I certainly found them here! When I took a class, way back when, in html and web design, it consisted of a boring series of slides with endless lists of elements and attributes. Our book was the O'Reilly Web Design reference. Don't get me wrong, the O'Reilly book is an excellent reference and will be recommended to my students to have on hand, but it wasn't meant as a tutorial. I plan on using the Head First book as a model for teaching the html and css portions of the class. Web Design should be fun! This book definitely fits the bill.
