Customer Rating: Summary: Very well written and presented Comment: If you want to learn JavaScript, this is a great place to start and finish. I liked this much better than Danny Goodman's "Bible".
Customer Rating: Summary: The JavaScript Bible Comment: I used the 2nd edition of this book to learn JavaScript 2 years ago,and it's hardly ever where it belongs on the bookshelf. Great reference. Browser-specific notes are for 2.0,3.0, and 4.0 browsers, so I guess it's time for me to buy the next edition!
Customer Rating: Summary: Terrible cover design! Comment: I'm trying to decide whether I want to buy this book or not. I think this must be the second or third time I look at this one. The content is probably great. But the ugly cover is such a big turnoff!! So weird and boring. I'm not sure if I want to see it on my desk or bookshelf. Sorry to be so "image-oriented". But I assume most people who're into web design stuff are visual people, and aesthetics are important. Just want to send the publisher a reminder.
Customer Rating: Summary: Complete & Correct Comment: This book is the most complete and accurate Javascript book I have seen. It is not merely a How-To, it explains why things work the way they do. One thing I particularly liked about this book was a thorough explanation of the object-oriented features of Javascript. Buy this Book! It's the only Javascript book you will need.
Customer Rating: Summary: good for beginners but a waste for experienced Comment: this book teaches you the syntax of javascript really well but in terms of actually applying it to web scripting i felt it did a horrible job. if you're looking to learn javascript from scratch then this would be a good book to buy but if you already know javascript and want a book that has more advanced or web related topics then i'd probably take a look at goodman's book.
