Summary: Definitely Worth it!
Comment: This book is definitely worth having especially if you've done your homework with more in depth studying. This book is also a good tool to find out what exactly you need to know if you want to get started on the White Hat track.

Summary: Sybex STAMP of Approval
Comment: I recently took my CEH and passed, so from first hand experience with "using" this book as exam prep: I sat around with a group of friends and to help us all study we each read a chapter's practice questions and took turns answering. After the very first chapter, a pattern started to emerge. The incorrectness of these questions and answers were so obvious that we started to preface certain questions with "This question has the Sybex CEH stamp of approval", as we were uncertain at the time who to lay the blame on, Sybex or the CEH in general. After the preface was said, everyone in the group knew to answer with the most absurd answer option, and usually got it correct (according to the book). As stated above in the other 1-star comment, I have filled this book in a bown cardboard grave, hopefully never to hurt anyone else. I may bring it out for laughs once in a while now that I think of it. You have been warned.

Summary: Interesting read
Comment: i found this book interesting and easy to read. i recommend it to whoever wants to break into ethical hacking. my only take on it is that its not as detailed as i was expecting. i am not sure how that's going to impact my preparation for the CEH test...guess ill find out soon enough

Summary: too easy?
Comment: I'm a freshman in highschool.
I went through the questions at the end of every chapter in borders and i got over 90% of them right.) This book is WAY too easy. It also contained flase information. It said that you cant sniff any packets on a switched LAN and you DEFINITLY CAN. Read Counter-Hack:Reloaded by Ed Skoudis if you dont want to read an understandable book on Ethical Hacking. By the way, the CEH exam is extremely difficult compared to this books test they test you on specific commands that you type in for tools such as Snort. BOTTOM LINE: This is a bad book don't buy it.
