Summary: A SO-SO BOOK ON A FINE PRODUCT
Comment: Typos, errors, missing information and files: The 'Crystal Reports' referenced as being bundled with the book on its accompanying CD-Rom does not exist(specifically file name CR50.EXE is mentioned starting on page 52 for installation but cannot anywhere be located on the diskette). The publisher has, so far, ignored two e-mail requests for correction. The book itself is laden with syntax errors that make testing of certain test code almost impossible. If you're going to rely on this book to get started, be prepared to spend hours and hours on fiddling with corrections of your own. In the vernacular, 'this sucker needs work!'

Summary: Better editing would have made this a 10+
Comment: While I've been very impressed with the clear writing and highly practical instruction in this book, I've noted dozens of syntax, grammatical, spelling, and factual errors, on the order of one every ten pages or so. And this is a very long book. Be prepared to spend a few hours wondering why certain queries just won't work, until your programming buddies tell you that parameter passing to a web page is always done with a "?" and not a "&" as the book occasionally--and erroneously--asserts. If you can make it through the minefields, you'll learn quite a bit about relational databases, Cold Fusion Studio, and data-driven web sites, but not without a few battle scars...

Summary: Great if you need to learn CF in a hurry
Comment: The bookstores are cluttered with tons of books on how to do this and that, but Cold Fusion does not enjoy this kind of selection. I was very impressed with this book - it has helped me tremendously in cleaning up an old web site. All in all very well done, one of the few reference books that I have read cover to cover.

Summary: Pages Falling Out During 1st Use
Comment: I found the content of this book to be excellent and has been a super aide for developing my first site. The problem I'm having is with the poor binding job of the book jacket which results in pages falling out immediately. I've taken two copies of the book back to the bookstore just to find they all have the same binding problem.

Summary: Great Book!
Comment: I read this book in two days and on the the third day I was writing code! A must have for any web developer who plans on integrating database functionality into their website. Looking forward to Ben's new book for Cold Fusion 3.1!
